PPP – Peace Poetry Postcard Month

Postcardosostcardd

February is one of my favorite months.

Valentines Day. Imbolc. And the World Peace Poets who usher in their Peace Poetry Postcard Month.

We sign up to receive 28 names and addresses of other poets from across the world who will write one poem a day in February on a postcard and pop it into the mail to a different poet each day. And, of course, the theme of peace flies through the universe courtesy of the mail systems. Ahhhhhhh, a beautiful way to spread peace and art and magical words and intentional creativity.

I am late in posting. It is already Day 6. Today I shall catch up. Then post one a day from here on out. I promise.

Bind weeds to strangle

Morning Glories, family, too
Bright eyes in morning sun

Good Ancestor

I reach back to you,
Good Ancestor,
embrace your peace,
your walk with me.

I reach ahead to you,
Good Ancestor,
divine your peace,
your walk with me.

I walk my day,
an open vessel
to shine out your peace,
Good Ancestor To Be.

Milky Way
It all came back to
why she dyed her hair.

She wasn’t at peace with
who she was.

The Milky Way
gently nudged her
home.

genius loci

The spirit of place that is.

Architects, the good ones,
the ones who know
beings
and nature
and things created
must reside in peace,
and weave the genius loci
into its right
a
nd honorable space.

(Dedicated to Daniel Libeskind, architect of the Denver Art Museum, after hearing his interview on Colorado CPR)

Roofers
In February’s stolid chill
roofers crack open early morning peace.

Rhythmic nails shutter out
weather’s purpose.

June’s hail storm
Re-collected.

My wish for you…

Collage2

My wish for you
to be lost in museum
where beauty is
suspended animation
never to change
so you can know my
heart this moment.

My wish for you
to hear your heartbeat
deep within your being,
the undertone,
almost forgotten,
the voice of the Divine
in love with you.

My wish for you
to walk in rain,
not to wash away any
precious part of you,
but to make you glisten
so you really understand
your light in the world.

My wish for you
to open your palm,
strong and gentle,
vulnerable but
willing to offer
your whole self,
your full stunning self
without fear,
just love.

My wish for you
to know my gratitude
of friendship,
deep reverence of
your soul, joy in
your smile, and
peace in your
simple presence.

My dear, dear
friend, in perpetuum,
my wish for you.

Happy Valentine’s Day,

Lexanne

I was honored to be in the audience in 2014 to see this live. I loved her energy, movement, painting. And the fact it was also a collaboration added to the awe. Spirit abounds around every corner.

You Spoke To Me Today

You spoke to me today
morning crescent moon alight at
the foot of my bed welcoming me awake

Your voice gentle rising steam
cupped within, held in my hand
warming the early chill

I heard your laughter today
my heart beats strong and faithful
for those who make me laugh

When I listen, you are there
whispering my name
holding me near

Little poems of love – to the Creator, the Goddess, to my love, and all those I love and who love me.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Inhale

In this story, she knows no fear.
Softness of last light crosses her cheek.

The hush of evening’s calm enters her,
spirals inward, down. An afterthought

of day’s swiftness tumbles into moist earth
beneath her bare feet. His caress tenders a longing

deep within her being, this story hers, eyes closed
to what is, inhales all that could be.

Author’s Note:

Today a little challenge from Tweetspeak Poetry and Everyday Poems. Use a line from a poem that shows up in my morning e-mail from Everyday Poems and create one of my own.

Valentine’s Day and the first line from the poem Khaleesi Says by Leah Umansky, author of Domestic Uncertainties, is my inspiration.

Good Night Wishes

I wish for you sweet kisses
honeyed remembrances
lavishly bestowed

May you be lost in tender
embrace under a winsome
moonglow smile

Let your ears fill with doting
whispers seducing you
to luscious slumber

On this eventide, now
and forever, may you know
my heart’s wide berth

Goodnight, my love
sweet dreams
sleep well

Just a little bit of sweetness thinking ahead to Valentine’s Day, my favorite holiday.
