Rollercoaster

It has been a rollercoaster ride the last few days. My computer is back and so am I. Catching up.

Day Twenty Three

Rollercoaster

Staunched, my rib cage leaves
no allowance for breath,
I cannot inhale deep enough
to push away fear of
what might be, or is.

I cannot force myself into
light where all will see
the fakery, the bold face lies.
See I am unable, incapable.

Why was I led so far,
allowed to believe
something I am not.

Trust melts in heat of realization,
drips through floor boards curled
through neglect,
a much better place to reside,
out of sight
out of mind
never to be used again.

Author’s Note:

As I said, it has been a wild ride.
